In order to maintain good control over information provision and information exchange, many municipalities can organise this in cooperation with each other.
The way municipalities work together is called ‘common ground’. Common Ground contains the agreements that municipalities have to make and implement in order to be able to develop and use (jointly) new ICT facilities. By following these agreements, a new information-supply landscape will be created in the future, which is shared by all municipalities (and other national facilities) in the Netherlands.
