In the field of ICT, the combination of Zuid-Holland’s decisiveness and the down-to-earth nature of the countryside has resulted in good results. For example, you can immediately see clear references to the new Environment and Planning Act on the municipality’s website and the information that is important for entrepreneurs can also be found quickly at the business desk.
The municipality of Hoeksche Waard is also faced with the challenge of responding quickly and efficiently to requests from its own municipality and, sometimes in the future, from the province, the national government, cooperating tax offices, security regions, nature organisations, water boards and many others. Digitization therefore plays an important role and a flexible IT architecture is of the utmost importance to properly support that process of digitization.
Recently, the municipality of Hoeksche Waard opted for a new solution from Enable U for data distribution. For an indefinite period of time, “old” government standards such as StUF will still be needed, in addition to new developments such as HaalCentraal and principles such as ‘questioning at the source’ (principles Common Ground) must be supported. For a number of years, we will still have to deal with a varied application landscape in which both the current standards and the new standards will be used side by side.
Placing the data distribution solution as a separate integration layer above the applications ensures vendor-independent flexibility for today and in the future.
Monique van der Stappen, information manager of the municipality of Hoeksche Waard: “A data distribution solution that is independent of applications and suppliers will help us to work more flexibly and develop new initiatives and services faster. The fact that the management of this SaaS solution is also taken out of our hands is of course one less thing to worry about.”
Raymond Slot, Enable U: “2Distribute does not force organizations into a straitjacket. Existing and new protocols and data formats, support for subscriptions, on-premises and cloud applications, everything is supported by default. In addition, we also take care of the management, which is one less thing for our customers to worry about.”
